ABOUT ME

Hello, my name is Gina. I live in California with my partner and our dachshund, Spencer, who is a good boy. I am a visual artist, graphic designer, and writer. I believe art, fashion, and design should be accessible to everyone of any size and background.

Long-term solutions are my favorite kind of solutions. It is important to me to identify issues early and work them out in the big picture as soon as possible, but when that is not an option, I can get inventive and make things work anyway!

During my many years at the Disneyland Resort, I learned the art of leadership, which includes knowing how to follow other leaders and communicate effectively. I loved every minute of my life in Disneyland Attractions.

My time at Aki-Home, a subsidiary of Nitori Japan, was quirky and educational. I worked with many personalities, in several languages. I streamlined the Aki-Home brand identity, created artwork for web, print, and large scale media, all while moving 170mph, upside-down, and balancing a teacup on my head!

...Ok, maybe that last half is hyperbole, but things got pretty crazy sometimes. In reality, I was challenged to keep our files organized, our brand consist, our images photoshopped, and our typography on trend in a constantly changing environment with very few resources and a small budget

My next adventure was in Vernon, California, at Popcornopolis (Registered Trademark). It was here that I got to dive more deeply into the world of package design, points of perchase, and character design. I work with a funned talented group of artists. My popcorn family and I create new designs, update old designs, and double, triple, quadruple check for mistakes before a print run!

I learned too many skills to count at Popcornopolis. I was lucky to be a part of a rebranding effort in 2020, including the creation of the Nearly Naked relaunch. I also found myself illustrating suites of characters for seasonal snack packs each year. After 5 years at Popcornopolis, our challenge became merging our aesthetic with our new parent company, Barcel, USA. I am now looking for the next challenge, working contract and small projects until I can find another good

All of these adventures have helped me to evolve, and I have found that my passion lies in illustration, character design, and surface pattern design.
